Jeffrey Herlings has done it again. The Dutch motocross legend secured the 2026 MXGP World Championship in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey, with two races to spare.
It is Jeffrey’s sixth career world title and his third in the MXGP class. An extra special achievement, as he clinched the title in his debut season on the Honda HRC PETRONAS Honda.
An incredible comeback
The road to the championship was nothing short of impressive. Earlier in the season, Jeffrey was facing a 68-point deficit, but thanks to an exceptional series of results, he managed to completely turn the championship around.
Together with Honda, Jeffrey achieved ten Grand Prix victories. This brings his total to an impressive 122 GP wins: 61 in the MX2 class and 61 in the MXGP class.
Prior to the Turkish Grand Prix, he had already secured seven qualifying races, sixteen motos, and thirteen podium finishes this season. With an unprecedented streak of fourteen consecutive moto wins, he ultimately put himself in a position to secure the world title early.
Congratulations from Stride
On behalf of Stride, we would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Jeffrey on this amazing achievement.
We are incredibly proud that Jeffrey represents Stride and that we are associated with an athlete who, with his dedication, perseverance, and will to win, consistently sets the standard in motocross.
Winning one world title is special. Winning six world titles definitively places Jeffrey among the greatest riders the sport has ever known.
Congratulations, Jeffrey. More than deserved.
